The Headquarter of Airbus is in Blagnac, France as well as it has significant presence across Europe. Airbus started as a partner of aerospace manufacturers.
Integration of European defense and aerospace companies at the end of the century permitted the set up of a simplified joint stock corporation in 2001, possessed by BAE Systems (20%) and EADS (80%). BAE sold its 20% shareholding to EADS on October 13, 2006. Around half of the world’s jet airliners are produced by Airbus.
Airbus Industry was officially set up as a GIE (Economic Interest Group) on December 18, 1970. The company formed by a government initiative between Germany, the UK and France started in 1967. The name Airbus was taken from a non-proprietary word used by the airline industry in the 1960s to refer to a business airliner of a definite range and size.
Development of A380
The corporation is known for manufacturing along with marketing the first commercially feasible fly-by-wire airliner as well as the largest airliner of the world, the A380. The Airbus A380 is a four-engine, double-deck, and wide-body airplane produced by the European corporation Airbus, a subsidiary of EADS. A380 is the largest passenger aircraft on the globe; the Airbus A380 manufactured its original flight on 27th April 2005 from Toulouse, France, as well as the company made its first commercial flight on October 25, 2007. The airliner was recognized as the Airbus A3XX throughout its growth stage, since then the aircraft has been associated with the nick name Superjumbo.
Development of A300
The Airbus A300 was the first aircraft to be developed, manufactured and marketed by Airbus. By early 1967, the "A300" started to apply the proposal 320 seat, double engine aircraft. Béteille grew a division of labor which would be the basis of Airbus manufacturing for coming years. In 1972, the A300 manufactured the first production model; the A300 B2 started service in 1974; although the launch of the A300 was more important by the likewise timed supersonic airliner Concorde. In the beginning the success of the group was poor, but gradually orders for the aircraft picked up. Till 1979 the group had 256 orders for A300s.
Development of other A3XX
The company had launched a more superior airliner, the A310 which is a wide body airliner in medium to long range aircraft. A310 was the second airliner manufactured by the association of the aerospace companies, launched in July 1978 and is now completely owned by EADS. It is a shortened version of the A300, the first wide body twin-engine aircraft. The A300 and A310 formally ceased manufacturing in July 2007.
In 1981, the launch of the A320 assured the status of Airbus as a key player in the airliner market - the airplane had over four hundred orders before its first flight, as compared to fifteen for the A300 in 1972. The Airbus A320 is a family of commercial passenger jet airliners, short- to medium-range, narrow body, produced by the company. The family includes the A321, A319, A320, and A318, as well as the ACJ business jet. The A320 family introduced the use of digital fly-by-wire air travel control systems in commercial airliner.
The maintenance of manufacturing and engineering assets by the associate companies in effect made Airbus Industry, marketing and sales company. The corporations collaborated on growth of the Airbus range. By the late 1980s work had started on a couple of new aircraft, the largest to be manufactured under the name, the Airbus A340 and Airbus A330.
